Porto is well known for arising world known architects and designers as Alvaro Siza and Eduardo Souto de Moura. It’s our favorite city in Portugal. It’s less perfect than Lisboa and the ones who’ve been to Lisboa know that Lisboa is not at all a pitch perfect fake city. It’s honest, authentic and colorful and so is Porto. I think that you’re either a Lisboa or Porto person. Porto is also more artsy and down to earth I’d say, even if tourism is growing fast. It’s also colder and you can have some very dark and rainy days. But as Lisboa it’s right next to the Ocean and on even grey days we love to drive to the Atlantic Sea. If you have a few days, you can also drive south to Aveiro (Venice of Portugal) by car or train (both about 1h).
