A Bela Aurora

Paula and Massimo welcomed me with coffee and cookies. I actually only wanted to drop off my bag and head to brunch with friends. But I was a bit too early for that and enjoyed instead my coffee and cookies with a chat with Paula and Massimo. I enjoyed listening to their story – where they come from, what they have done, seen and experienced. Paula is originally from Porto but has been living in many other places in Portugal and in other countries. She’s a fashion and lifestyle photographer and has worked for several national and international magazines as Elle and Case da Abitare. Massimo is a Milanese and former well-known RAI radio producer and currently a music radio producer and broadcaster.

The A Bela Aurora is a building from the 19th century and has a beautiful stairway with a dome in the middle. The guesthouse is located in the trendiest Oporto quarter well-renowned for its artistic atmosphere.

Staying at A Bela Aurora was a „home coming experience“. I felt very comfortable in my big beautiful blue room. The interior design meets my taste perfectly. Paula and Massimo have put a lot of love in the details and I felt the traveler’s spirit. There were design pieces collected from all over the world.

On warmer days you can enjoy your breakfast outside in the garden. I specially enjoyed the freshly pressed orange juice (Portuguese oranges are simply the sweetest, in my opinion), the delicious bread and yogurt with fruits.

We recommend to at least once walk to our favorite garden Jardins do Palácio de Cristal. It’s just about 8 walking minutes away.

I felt very welcome at A Bela Aurora and I will come back for sure with Mike. See you soon Paula and Massimo!

Obrigada por tudo, Liliana
