With age comes the desire of tranquility and privacy when traveling. We love to have our own oasis while exploring new places. It's important for us to feel comfortable. Sure that feeling at home away from home is something we like but to be honest who doesn’t want to upscale during a vacation? We do! We tend to book places that could be our dream homes. Places that we would love to live in.
On the edge of a small chain of hills overlooking the village of Melides, there is a place called Les Terrasses de Comporta, designed by architect Manuel Aires Mateus, that would absolutely be one of those homes we dream of. This stunning modern villa offers you 7 hectare of Mediterranean forest with panoramic views over the Atlantic coast. Drawing inspiration from the traditional houses of Alentejo, the project reinterprets them, combining ancient forms, modern lines and natural elements.
In between pine trees, oaks, oranges, lemon and olive trees you’ll find tranquility. In just 15 minutes you’ll reach the beaches and in only one hour drive you’ll be in Lisboa. The main house, bright and spacious, serves as the common living area, and includes a kitchen, dining room and a fourth double bedroom with en suite bathroom. A heated swimming pool with 18 meters long, with its own terrace and plenty of space to relax is the cherry on top.
Les Terrasses de Comporta is definitely on our to-stay list for a longer stay.
