Benedita Formosinho caught our attention in spring 2018. We love how she combines colour and fabric. Benedita studied fashion design in Lisbon and owns her own space where she presents her collections and the ones from other talented Portuguese designers. Her brand is dedicated to female fashion, clothes and accessories. She combines trends with a timeless touch. Every piece is hand made in Portugal and available in limited edition.
Her designs are inspired by the daily lives of women, by nature and different contrasts, forms and asymmetries. The new autumn/winter collection Seaweed is very feminine and tender. The soft and earthy colours are perfectly combined with delicate but also strong textiles (we love the shirt Laminária). The new collection reflects, in my opinion, women as human beings. We are delicate, elegant but also emotional and strong!
The collection Seaweed is inspired by the seaweeds and the firmness of sea reefs. It invites comfort and cosiness. The natural colours green, sand, sarrubeco and terracotta are perfectly combined with natural and organic textiles as wool, mohair, silk and cotton made in Portugal. Benedita Formosinho also has a beautiful collection of accessories made with organic materials as burel felt and reed.
We specially love to see Benedita Formosinho giving traditional pieces as the blanket from Alentejo a new contemporary touch. We adore the coral jacket.
Overall, Benedita Formosinho's new collection inspired us to go back to more natural colours and textiles this cold winter in Switzerland.
