To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the city Lagos. But since I've heard that Casa Mãe is a real treasure and I couldn't remember the last time I went to the beach there, I decided to do a day trip with my mum. We loved the hotel Casa Mãe. It's such a stylish place. The interior design is very clean – mediterranean simplicity to perfection! We love all the whites and blues, the palms everywhere and the chilling but yet sophisticated atmosphere. They managed to create a space where surfers and designers feel comfortable. They have furthermore a very beautiful collection of Portuguese design products in their shop. We actually recommend to buy your souvenirs there. You'll find high quality design at a very fair price.
Afterwords, we headed to the beach 'Praia do Camilo' and had lunch at O Camilo. We absolutely loved the view to the beach and the food was amazing. We only had a fish soup and some goat cheese but all the dishes looked very delicious. And it's not a touristic trap (we were really surprised), the prices are very fair. This is a reason why we avoid Lagos, normally. It's just too touristic. If you'd like to eat dinner at O Camilo, you'll need to make reservation at least 2 days in advance. Lunch is easy with no reservation.
Wishing you a wonderful day,
