ODILE

With ODILE it was love at first sight, to be precise, at fist sight with their blouse EMMA and their dress SIMONA. They are unique, playful and elegant at the same time. Normally, I'm not that much into patterns but the ones from ODILE are just beautiful. The ODILE Summer 22 Resort Collection is inspired by their love for vintage, art and travel. The pattern designs are influenced by the famous Azulejos ceramic tiles, whose myriad of motifs and colours adorn the floors and walls of ancient Portuguese palaces and properties. This limited edition consists of striking and colourful pieces reflecting an understated luxury and down-time aesthetic. I'll be wearing my dress during this festive winter season, but can't wait to wear it next spring and summer 22.

The brand takes sustainability seriously. Their fabrics are carefully selected (50% linen – 50% cotton) and OEKO-TEX certified. In addition, they produce only limited batches, making each dress a unique piece which is numbered on the paper hang tag. Their blouse EMMA is one of a kind: all pieces are assembled together from upcycled fabrics from the actual collection for a relaxed style and loose fit – it's up on my birthday wish list!

Blouse EMMA

My collection of hand-woven reed bags is insanely big. But in my opinion, one can never have to many. I use them to store things, to go to the market and also when teaching in kindergarten. The kids love to discover new things out of my bags. ODILE's hand-woven bags are traditional accessories that never go out of style. All their bags are 100% hand-woven using 100% organic reed; they are lovingly crafted by a family of weavers, who have been making baskets for generations. ODILE aims to preserve this ancestral tradition of Portuguese basketry taking on a modern approach using distinctive vibrant colours and geometric patterns. Each bag can be customized with the initials, embossed on the leather hang tag. Furthermore, each bag is numbered on the paper hangtag because they don't want to overproduce. My favorite one is the big market bag MALKA - Greene Squares.
