Casa Modesta

Casa Modesta is a family house and a real architectural gem nearby Olhão and Ria Formosa. The rooms are very tasteful decorated with Portuguese slow design. Some pieces where designed and produced exclusively for Casa Modesta. The owners intend to preserve Portuguese culture by doing workshops (food). And soon they want to open a creative residency.

If you love to experience a place‘s food and design culture, you‘ll love the breakfast at Casa Modesta. They will serve you Portuguese specialties but also modern brunch delicacies. Everything is beautifully prepared and decorated with Portuguese accessories. We loved it!

We visited Casa Modesta in summer and winter. We are big fans of winter time in Algarve and at Casa Modesta it's even more special. In December they have their place decorated in the most traditional and beautiful way.

Casa Modesta is facing the sea and in the heart of the Ria Formosa Nature Park, considered one of Portugal‘s seven wonders. From Casa Modesta you witness the best morning in all the Algarve. You we can watch the migration of birds, the practice of shellfish gathering or the harvesting of salt, or take the bike for morning ride to the beach.
