There is a place I’ve been wanting to share with you since July 2023. A place that felt like home (actually it is only 10 minutes away from my parent’s house), a place that embraces the charm of an old small Quinta from Algarve, a place that is our tranquility and yet close to Faro and the airport, a place with owners that become friends immediately - welcome to Âmago!

Nestled in the enchanting Algarve, Âmago epitomizes the spirit of unhurried living in contemporary times. Drawing inspiration from the traditional aesthetics of the Algarve, this retreat is centered around serenity and repose.

Picture a tranquil sanctuary enveloped by nature, transcending the concept of a mere guesthouse—it's a way of life. Each morning unfolds at a leisurely rhythm, inviting you to savor the gentle onset of dawn, the splendor of our gardens, and the regal presence of towering trees, silently bearing witness to the blissful tranquility that defines Âmago.

Their claim is “Uma Casa Lenta” and indeed, we were able to unwind and savor the calmness every moment of our stay. If you're eager to discover the hidden treasures of the Algarve, you've come to the right place. The proprietors, Alex and Liz, are more than willing to guide you with their insider’s knowledge. Âmago is situated near the historic town of Santa Barbara de Nexe, where you'll find a grocery shop for all your daily needs. Interestingly, I was baptized in the church of Santa Barbara de Nexe, making it a truly special place for me.

We specially loved how they renovated and decorated the old Quinta with the help of Interior Design Studio escolhido. The blend of Portuguese heritage and modern Design harmonizes with our style. The whitewashed rooms adorned with traditional beams, complemented by an earthy and soothing color palette, are meticulously designed for both comfort and aesthetic appeal. In each of the six rooms, you'll find an array of handmade and custom-crafted furniture, captivating artworks, and meticulously hand-stitched linens. Talented artisans and artists were specially commissioned to craft pivotal pieces that grace the spaces at Âmago.
